The practice of happy hour was banned in Massachusetts back in 1984 as a way to battle drunk driving. Under proposed new legislation from lawmakers, cities and towns may once again be able to allow deals on alcoholic drinks. No smoking, vaping, dipping, or other similar use of tobacco or other legal/ illegal substance is allowed anywhere on the grounds or within the structures of Boston Commons by residents or their guests.Massachusetts prohibits carrying open containers of alcohol in public places. This means that individuals cannot carry or consume alcoholic beverages on public streets, sidewalks, or other public areas.
