What is Equal Exchange tea?
Equal Exchange’s fairly traded, organic teas are different! We buy our delicious tea directly from democratically-organized groups of growers. When small-scale farmers gain access to the global market, they have more economic power, better lives, and healthier communities. Yes. All current Equal Exchange tea products are certified organic by Oregon Tilth. For more information, visit the Oregon Tilth website.
Where is Equal Exchange coffee from?
Equal Exchange distributes organic, gourmet coffee, tea, sugar, bananas, avocados, cocoa, and chocolate bars produced by farmer cooperatives in Latin America, Africa, and Asia. Founded in 1986, it is the oldest and largest Fair Trade coffee company in the United States. In terms of purity, Equal Exchange adheres to organic standards (so no nasty chemicals on the crops) and while they don’t publish mold test results, their quality control is high and they’ve been in the business of clean, sustainable coffee since the 1980s.
