How to use a scent diffuser?
Reed Diffuser: How to use Remove the seal on the oil jar/vessel. Place reeds in the vessel. Immediately flip the reeds to break in the scent and maximize fragrance. Use a reed diffuser tray to prevent any spills staining. Here’s what to do: Flip the reeds—often it’s as simple as turning them over to refresh the scent. If it’s still weak, replace with fresh reeds. Old reeds can clog over time and stop diffusing. Clean the neck of the bottle—dust or dried oil can block airflow.A 50ml bottle using 3–4 reeds can fragrance a space for 1–2 months. Larger 100ml bottles, like those from Hotel Collection, usually employ 4–6 reeds and provide scent for 3–4 months. Larger diffusers, like those with a 500ml bottle, use 12 to 15 reeds and can last anywhere from 6 to 12 months.Setting up your diffuser is quick and easy. Start by removing the closed wooden cap from the glass bottle and replacing it with the open wooden cap, the one with the hole in the center. Then insert the reeds through the cap and into the fragrance. For best results, flip the reeds right away so both ends are saturated. To maintain a consistent aroma, we recommend flipping your reeds every few days. Do bear in mind that the more frequently you flip them, the faster the oil will evaporate.
Why can’t I smell my diffuser anymore?
Over time the ends of your reeds dry out, or get clogged with dust and diffuser oil. This can cause the scent of your diffuser to fade. To prevent this from happening we suggest to flip your reeds every 1-2 weeks. Reed diffusers typically start working and releasing fragrance shortly after set up. However, you should notice a gradual release of fragrance within the first 24 hours. If you don’t notice a difference within 24 hours you can try adjusting the number of reeds or their position in the diffuser.Use all reeds that come with your diffuser ensures the best strength of scent being absorbed through the reeds and flowing into your room. It’s the volume of scent being sent through your room that makes you stop in your tracks and think ‘wow that’s an amazing smell’. Less reeds = less scent.
Why is my diffuser not making my room smell?
Why has my reed diffuser stopped smelling? The reeds may be saturated or clogged. Try flipping them or replacing with new reeds. Also check for placement, airflow makes a big difference. Can Diffusers Be Used Without Essential Oils? Technically, yes, you can run a diffuser with plain water, but it won’t give off any fragrance. If your goal is to freshen the air or enjoy aromatherapy, you’ll need to add a few drops of essential oil or use another method to diffuse scent.Too little water level is one of the most frequent causes of a non-functioning air fragrance diffuser. Essential oils are released into the air via diffusers using water as a medium. The machine won’t have sufficient liquid to produce mist if the water level is too low in it.Scentiment diffusers are designed to use diffuser oils directly without dilution. Adding water can weaken the scent, cause uneven diffusion, or damage the diffuser. If your diffuser does not work, the first step is to make sure it is properly plugged in. If it’s plugged in, and the lights nor mist will turn on, make sure there is power coming from your source. A possible cause may be mineral or oil buildup, causing the unit to have difficulty misting.
Why is my new diffuser not misting after reset?
A diffuser that runs without mist usually has a clogged nozzle (nebulizer type) or mineral buildup on the ultrasonic plate (water type). Clean the nozzle or plate with rubbing alcohol or white vinegar. Also check that the oil level or water level is not too low. We recommend filling the water slightly below the max fill line. Make sure the unit is sitting on a hard, flat surface. Do not place it on something soft, like a towel that could absorb the ultrasonic vibrations. Make sure the unit is not sitting directly under an air vent or fan that may be dispersing the mist.
