Will Charged Lemonade ever come back?
Panera is finally phasing out its Charged Lemonade lineup following three separate lawsuits that claim the the drinks led to the deaths of two customers and caused ongoing health complications for another. Panera is taking its caffeinated Charged Lemonades off the menu, Bloomberg first reported on May 7. The Charged Lemonades had prompted multiple lawsuits alleging that the drinks’ caffeine content led to deaths or health problems like heart palpitations.Panera Bread offers several different flavors of its Charged Sips beverages, including Strawberry Lemon Mint Charged Lemonade, Mango Yuzu Citrus Charged Lemonade and Blood Orange Charged Splash, which all contain significant amounts of caffeine.
When was Charged Lemonade introduced?
First introduced in 2022, Panera advertised the Charged Lemonade as plant-based and clean with as much caffeine as our dark roast coffee. It’s light, refreshing, and bursting with flavor. But did you know that lemonade benefits your health? That’s right — but the key is to enjoy it in moderation, and skip the sugar.
