Why is my Nespresso Vertuo button half red and half green?
The descaling alert appears when the light becomes green and red. Only several coffees can be made after this alert appears before descaling becomes mandatory. Close the machine by pushing the lever down. Fill the water tank with one unit of nespresso descaling liquid and at least 17 ounces of water. Orange light will blink during the entire descaling process. Empty, clean and rinse the water tank and cup support thoroughly. Fill the water tank with fresh drinking water and put it back in place on the machine. Light blinks while machine is running. If coffee is flowing normally, this indicates the machine is working properly. If only water is flowing, the machine is executing a user request for either cleaning, descaling or emptying the system.
