Why does coke have caffeine but not Sprite?
Since its inception over sixty years ago, Sprite has always been 100% caffeine-free. This is likely due to the fact that Sprite’s main competitor at the time of its launch, 7-Up, was also caffeine-free. Sprite is caffeine-free, easy to find in grocery stores and gas stations, and has a lot going for it as far as flavor. It consistently ranks among the top lemon-lime soda brands, beating out not only its major competitor, 7Up, but also craft soda brands. I guess the mantra here is don’t mess with a good thing.
