Rewind to May 2009: Andy Wilkin, a freshly-minted Q Grader, and Jessie Holmes open the doors to Te Aro Roasted in the heart of Toronto’s Leslieville neighbourhood. It began as a cafe and micro-roastery inspired by the cafes Andy admired in his hometown of Te Aro, Wellington, New Zealand. Andy Wilkin and Jessie Holmes founded Pilot Coffee Roasters in 2009. Located in Leslieville, the company was built to share our values of sourcing ethical, Direct Trade coffee and building transparency in the process from farm to cup.Founded by Andy Wilkin and Jessie Holmes, Pilot Coffee Roasters started as a micro-roastery and café in Toronto’s Leslieville neighborhood.
