What is the Nespresso podback service?
Podback is a coffee pod recycling service. The first of its kind in the UK, Podback was created in partnership with the biggest names in coffee pod systems, Nespresso, Nescafé Dolce Gusto and Tassimo, to give people who enjoy the quality and taste of coffee pods simple and easy ways to recycle them. We then do not advise to reuse capsules often if at all. You can try once to see the results, perhaps because you have a very good quality ground coffee around you want to brew with your Nespresso machine. But be warned that this method may absolutely clog or even break your machine.Nespresso USA supports communities by partnering with local recycling facilities. In the US, once capsules are collected, they are sent to Nespresso partners like Ag Choice in New Jersey (seen above) where the aluminum is separated from coffee grounds.How and why you should recycle your capsules. Where to recycle podback?
Working with retailers and local authorities we’ve expanded the service, meaning you can now drop off your pods when you’re visiting the supermarket or recycling centre. This nationwide network of local recycling points will continue to grow in the coming months. You don’t need a Podback bag to recycle at a local authority recycling centre. Save your pods in any bag or container. If you use pods made from different materials please keep aluminium and plastic pods separate.Step 1: Complete the Recycle Checker, or access the map through an existing Podback account, and the map view will show where drop-off points are available. Step 2: Then just click on your chosen location to find out how to recycle there – there’s no need to generate a returns label in advance and stick it to your bag.Order your bags Sign up and order your free recycling bags on the Podback website. You will be asked to confirm whether you have plastic or aluminium pods. Podback will send you two rolls of bags and an instruction leaflet within 7 – 10 working days. Each roll has 13 bags on it.
Can I recycle Nespresso pods myself?
Yes, you can still drop off your used capsules in a Recycling Bag with an affixed UPS label at UPS pick-up points. Please select the amount of Recycling Bags you would like to receive and click on Order. Each bag can hold up to 200 OriginalLine / 100 VertuoLine capsules. Once filled, you can return this bag at no charge by dropping it off at any UPS drop off location.To request additional recycling bags, please contact us. Kindly note that bags are provided free of charge when coffee capsules are purchased online, by phone, by live chat or in one of our Boutiques. You just need to be targeted for one of the recycling solutions.Fill your recycling bag with used capsules (approximately 150 original capsules per bag, or 65 vertuo). There is no need for any labelling. Drop it off at any of our nespresso boutiques. You may pick up a new nespresso recycling bag there too.By recycling your Nespresso coffee pods, you give them a new life and reduce your environmental footprint.Recycling Bin Put your used capsules in a Nespresso recycling bag. Is Podback free to use?
Podback recycling bags are free – just order them from the Podback website. Find your local drop-off point: use the Podback online recycle checker to find your nearest drop-off point. Get a bag’ link to order your free Podback bags. The recycling bags supplied by Podback are made of recycled material and are fully recyclable. They are baled by the reprocessor and sent to a facility in East Yorkshire which specialises in recycling flexible plastics, such as food wrappers and films.Starbucks® by Nespresso® pods are primarily aluminium. The benefit of using aluminium is that aluminium itself is infinitely recyclable.
