Why is it called Robusta?
Robusta gets its name from its hardy nature. It is able to grow in lower altitudes and diverse climates around the world making it a more resilient and ‘robust’ species of coffee. However, in terms of robusta production, Vietnam is the leading producer of robusta coffee globally. Over 90% of the coffee grown and produced in Vietnam is of the robusta variety.
