Why is AeroPress coffee so good?
Short Brew Time = Low Bitterness Here’s the sciencey bit: AeroPress brews in just 1 to 2 minutes, depending on your recipe. That’s way shorter than a French press (4–6 minutes) or drip machine (around 5 minutes). The result? Less bitterness, lower acidity, and more of the nuanced flavors you actually want to taste. The answer isn’t simple. French press creates a rich, full-bodied cup with more oils and a robust mouthfeel. The Aeropress, thanks to its paper filter, produces a cleaner, brighter cup that lets subtle flavors shine through.

What is the criticism of AeroPress?
The AeroPress is fundamentally a single-serve brewer. You can’t make a big pot of coffee for guests. You can make a concentrate and add hot water (like an Americano), but it’s not the same as brewing a large batch. If you regularly brew for two or more people, this might not be your primary solution. Not all brewers are good for people on a budget—but the Aeropress certainly is, because here’s all you need: an aeropress and a burr grinder. No special water pouring kettle and no coffee scale required. Other methods (like pour over coffee) do require these things and are harder to get started with on a budget.
