Is Café Bustelo different than regular coffee?
Our traditional café bustelo products are an espresso grind made from a darker roast of beans and is generally considered stronger than most regular coffees. Today, café bustelo continues to honor that legacy with our unique blend of high-quality coffee beans that are expertly roasted and finely ground to create a rich and bold flavor that is second to none. espresso style coffee is a unique type of dark-roasted coffee that is known for its richness and intensity.The difference between espresso and coffee comes down to the way they are prepared, rather than the actual beans. In general, espresso beans are roasted for a long time (dark roast), have a fine grind and require high pressure to create an ounce or two of concentrated coffee.Born in Galicia, Spain, Bustelo moved to Cuba as a young man and fell in love with the country’s rich, dark-roasted coffee. Cuban-style coffee is usually taken with sugar and frothed with a little bit of hot espresso for lovely, creamy espumita (foam on top).Unlike regular drip coffee, Café Bustelo’s blend is typically a mix of Robusta and Arabica beans, giving it a strong, robust taste that is often used in Latin-inspired coffee drinks.Regarding fluid ounces alone, it would take about eight espresso shots to fill a coffee cup. However, we strongly advise against drinking that much espresso. The per-ounce caffeine concentration of espresso (63 mg) is far higher than drip coffee (about 12 mg per fluid ounce).
How much caffeine is in 1 shot of Café Bustelo?
Cafe bustelo**, on the other hand, contains between 60 to 90 mg of caffeine per teaspoon. So, if you whip up half a tablespoon for your morning espresso shots, you’re taking in around 100 to 150 mg of caffeine! Of all the coffees we tested, café bustelo espresso ground coffee had the most caffeine. Among the non-espresso ground coffees, flavored blends tended to have higher caffeine levels.And for the Cafe Bustelo it’s 60 to 90 milligrams per teaspoon. So if you’re using half a tablespoon to make your espresso shots in the morning that’s a hundred to a hundred and fifty milligrams of caffeine.
