A bikini barista is a woman who works as a barista, preparing and serving coffee beverages, while dressed in scanty attire such as a bikini, lingerie or a crop top combined with bikini bottoms or hotpants.

Bikini barista drive-thru coffee stands have been around since 2003. The majority of them started in the Pacific Northwest, where coffee is prevalent, and the competition among coffee businesses is fierce. To encourage sales, baristas started to wear bikini tops – after the approval by local municipalities was granted. The concept of bikini coffee first percolated in the early 2000s in the Seattle area. Legend has it that in 2001, a local coffee stand called Natte Latte began featuring baristas in hot pink shorts as a way to stand out from the competition.
