How does the NESCAFÉ Dolce Gusto work?
The NESCAFÉ Dolce Gusto machine heats water, which is passed at high pressure – a maximum of 15 bars – through a capsule of high quality roast and ground or soluble products (milk, chocolate, etc. The coffee that is used in the capsules is made mainly of premium Arabica varieties. To get the best results from using our NESCAFÉ® Dolce Gusto® coffee machines, we always recommend you use Starbucks® By NESCAFÉ® Dolce Gusto® or NESCAFÉ® Dolce Gusto® coffee pods, as these are specially created for use with our machines.The bars on the NESCAFÉ® Dolce Gusto® pods reference how much water and/or milk is required to get it to the right strength. On our automatic coffee machines, it’s simply a case of setting the bars on the machine to match those on the pod.Simply slide first the milk pod and then the coffee pod into your NESCAFÉ® Dolce Gusto machine.With a nespresso and dolce gusto coffee machine, you can make various coffee specialties. Can I use Dolce Gusto capsules without a machine?
Dunk Your Espresso Capsules Simply remove the pod from its packaging and place it in your mug, and carefully pour hot water over it. Stop at about a third to half an inch from the brim and allow the pod to steep. Perfect if you don’t have any coffee filters. Cut open your pod and empty the grounds into a heatproof mug or jar. Add hot water (6–8 oz), stir, and let steep for 3–4 minutes.Select your desired coffee size: choose from a range of sizes to determine the amount of water used. This allows you to customise your brew to your preference, whether you prefer a shorter, stronger cup or a longer, milder one. Once the coffee is made, lift the handle to remove the pod and enjoy your coffee!
How many times can I use Dolce Gusto capsules?
Technically, no one is stopping you from re-using a Dolce Gusto pod. However, both the manufacturer and typical coffee connoisseur alike will tell you it’s not highly recommended. Upon re-using your coffee pod, you may find your drink tasting too watery and diluted the second time around. We recommend flushing through with water after every use and descaling your machine every 3 – 4 months to get rid of the limescale build-up to keep your machine performing at its best.
