How do you use the Bodum adjustable coffee grinder?
Fill the grinder container to the level you require and replace the lid, locking it into position. Move the cup selector slide to the amount of cups you require. Choose the grind consistency from coarse to fine. Press the standby button to begin grinding. Angle of Application Cutting at an incorrect angle (leaning or tilting onto the disc) can create uneven load and cause the grinder to stop. Solution: Ensure the material is properly supported using clamps and positioned on a stable, even surface. Maintain a straight, controlled cut.Misaligned burrs can prevent consistent grinding. Ensure the burr holder is securely in place and that there are no loose parts. Turn the hopper from the coarsest to the finest setting and observe whether the burrs move closer together. How to change grinder settings?
With the crank arm on, hold the upper half of the grinder so that you can see the burrs, then (while keeping the dial lid static to the grinder body) turn the crank arm clockwise to open the burrs (coarser grind) and anti-clockwise to close (finer grind) – do this a few times to see how the burrs move in and out. Powered coffee grinders are generally adjusted by turning a knob or spinning an adjustment collar. Some models will have locking mechanisms that keep such a collar in place, which need to be depressed in order to change the grind setting.
What not to do with a grinder?
Never put a grinder down until the disc stops rotating. Disconnect power before changing discs. Never use a cut-off wheel for grinding or a grinding disc for cutting. Dispose of any disc that has been dropped. Rotating parts can create a pinch point or crushing hazard. Do not touch the wheel. Keep all guards in place and at the proper distances. The grinding wheel is hot after use, creating a burn, heat, or fire hazard.
