The two systems should not be confused with each other, capsules are not interchangeable. However, there is a lot of machines on the market which can use original or compatible Nespresso pods. What can I use instead of Nespresso Vertuo pods?

Only Nespresso is allowed to make Vertuo pods. The Starbucks ones are made by Nespresso as well. Third parties won’t be able to make them until 2030 something when the patents expire.
