Are all Chemex filters the same?
All the filters will function in the same way, it just comes down to personal preference for which you choose. The white filter paper goes through an oxygen cleansing bath followed by a series of hot water baths. The brown filter paper goes through only the hot water baths, retaining the “natural” wood color. Should you wet a Chemex filter?
Should the filter be pre-wet? This is not a required step in the brewing process. One may do this to rinse away any remaining paper fibers as well as heat the carafe.
