What is an alternative to AeroPress filters?
Cloth filters, often made of cotton or hemp, offer a sustainable option for AeroPress brewing. They are durable and reusable, and that positions them as a great alternative to the paper filter. They retain less oils and fines than paper filters, but consistently more than the metal ones. When it comes to the AeroPress, there are two main types of filter: paper and metal. Paper filters are popular for many reasons, including their ability to absorb some of the oils present in coffee during extraction. This leads to a cleaner-tasting flavour profile with a less enhanced body.Adding two filters during your brew is one of the easiest hacks with the AeroPress. Using a double filter has two main benefits: 1) It can create a cleaner final cup of coffee, and 2) can slightly prevent unwanted dripping during brewing because of the thicker paper. The original aeropress paper filters are the most popular choice among coffee lovers. Coffee brewed with the stock filters will make a cloudy, slightly fuller-bodied cup, than the aesir filters. If you like a stronger drip coffee, these filters are your choice. The standard size filters fit the AeroPress Original, Clear, Premium, Go, and Go Plus. Use XL filters for the AeroPress XL.

AeroPress Paper and Natural Paper Micro Filters. These paper filters are a great starting point for anyone wanting to try an AeroPress. Make a grit-free cup, with smooth flavor. The white and the natural paper filters perform the same. I’m still using the original stack of filters from when I bought my Aeropress some 9 years ago. Usually about 15 reuse each filter. Nowadays I learn to pull the piston back a little before taking of the lid to rinse them to reduce the friction on the paper.I reused my paper Aeropress filter 3 times, and I think that if I had tried it again it might have completely fallen apart, resulting in a wasted coffee. So I’d recommend reusing Aeropress paper filters 3 times max.

Screw in the cap and place your AeroPress on top of your vessel. A regular mug will do just fine.
Can you use AeroPress without a filter?
AeroPress. An AeroPress is a versatile brewing device that uses pressure to create a clean, flavorful cup of coffee without a paper filter. Add coffee grounds into the AeroPress chamber, pour hot water over the grounds, and stir. Attach the plunger and gently press down, extracting the coffee into your mug. It is very important to stop pressing when (or right before) the water is out of the AeroPress. If you hear a hissing noise, or if you can visually tell that it is at the end (as shown), you should stop pressing. Continuing past this point would squeeze bitterness out of the coffee grounds.Your Aeropress should be pretty hard to plunge, taking around 30 seconds to depress fully. If the pressure inside the Aeropress becomes too great you may find it nearly impossible to press down though – try grinding your coffee coarser to slow down the extraction.Make sure your grind is still level, and tamp it down to create an espresso-like puck in a portafilter. Don’t tamp it down too hard though, since you won’t be able to press the water through it. You’re just aiming to level out the coffee puck so it stays in place when you press down on the plunger.
