Typica is one of the oldest arabica varieties. It is known for its complex, sweet flavour profile, though flavour notes vary by origin. Typica has a lower yield than other arabica varieties like Bourbon, and is more susceptible to leaf rust. The main types of Arabica coffee include: Typica, Bourbon, Caturra, Catimor, Jackson, Kona, Pacamara, Villabos.
Is peaberry Arabica or Robusta?
This means that peaberries can be high-quality arabica or low-quality robusta. Peaberries can also be any coffee varietal (individual varieties under the arabica or robusta ‘heading’).
