What’s so special about Nespresso Vertuo?
Brewing. Vertuo technology reads the barcode on each capsule, automatically adjusting to the perfect settings, so you can brew your favorite type of coffee, time after time, without fail. Vertuo’s innovative technology uses Italian expertise and craftsmanship to brew rich tasting coffee with extra-flavor and a signature crema. The most obvious reason is that Vertuo pods are designed to brew larger cup sizes, such as a full mug or even a carafe. As such, they tend to be larger and contain more coffee grounds (and thus, more caffeine per pod). For example, the Carafe Pour-Over Style pod can whip up 18 ounces of coffee in one go!But at the core of each line is a shared brewing system: original machines use high pressure for a classic espresso experience, while vertuo models rely on centrifugal force and barcode technology to brew a wider variety of cup sizes, from espresso to full coffee mugs.Nespresso VertuoLine capsules come in three different sizes, so larger drinks can be as strong as smaller ones. In total those three sizes will make 5 different coffee drinks. Nespresso Original Pods only come in one size and are meant to make espresso, double espresso or a luongo.
Why is Nespresso Vertuo cheaper?
They have a monopoly on the vertuo pods, so they entice you to buy the machines with a lower price. I got the vertuo bc it was on sale. I tend to exclusively order from nespresso and i was jealous of how many different flavors vertuo was getting and honestly wanted in and so the sale got me to cave and buy it. You can certainly clean and reuse official nespresso vertuo capsules with fresh ground or preground coffee. I’m familiar with disposable foil lids and reusable silicone lids and heard good reports of both. Don’t use a metal reusable capsule, which will burn out your motor.Nope. Nespresso sells totally separate machines for its original line and Vertuo coffee capsules. The capsules are different in size, shape and function, meaning there’s no way to use them interchangeably.
