Why did Cup of Joe write Multo?
Multo ( lit. Ghost’) is a song by Filipino band Cup of Joe from its debut studio album, Silakbo (2025). Written by co-lead vocalist Raphaell Ridao and his brother Redentor during the COVID-19 pandemic, the synth-pop and pop-rock ballad explores themes of grief, emotional haunting, and self-reflection. Multo is a Filipino term that refers to a ghost or spirit, but in Multo by Cup Of Joe – it metaphorically represents the lingering presence of past love that continues to haunt the protagonist.
