We’re 26 (and counting) stores across Sydney, NSW and QLD and home to over 3,000 wonderful employees all with a common purpose, to reconnect Aussies with the joy of food. Is Harris Farms organic?
These standards are: AUS-QUAL, ACOCOL, BDRI, NCO, OFC, SXC. At Harris Farm, we are in the business of ensuring that all our growers and suppliers carry an Organic certification as dictated by the above agencies. Organic farms and business are certified and inspected by USDA-accredited certifiers. Specially trained organic inspectors visit organic farms and business yearly to confirm they still meet the organic standards. Every organic operation is also subject to additional, unannounced inspections and testing.
Who is the founder of Harris Ranch?
Founded by Jack Harris in 1937, the Harris Ranch Beef Company (now operated by Jack Harris’ son John) was originally a cotton and grain operation. In the 1970s the ranch opened a burger stand near Interstate 5. Harris Ranch operates one of the largest cattle finishing facilities in the Western United States. With a feedlot covering nearly 800 acres, Harris Feeding Company has a capacity to feed and finish up to 120,000 head of cattle at one time.Premium grain-fed California Grown Beef was John Harris’ vision for the Harris Ranch Beef Company, and the legacy continues with the new owner, Brian Coelho. Brian purchased the company in 2019, intending to process higher-quality grain fed beef – And this is where the Coelho legacy continues.
